Jordan D'Ray "JD" Summers (Lead Vocals/Guitar/Keys)
Born March 15th, 1980. At age 4, Jordan received a tape of Muddy Waters and Dizzy Gillespie. That's when the
music first hit his soul. A year later, he started learning to play the piano and guitar. Since then, his influences
have consisted of Alabama, Gary Moore, Joe Cocker, Michael Jackson, Hootie & The Blowfish, Stevie Wonder, SRV,
Buddy Guy, and more.
Wanting to learn some vocal skills, JD joined in middle and high school choir, and started an acappella quartet.
They started out learning 60's soul and Boyz II Men songs. When he finished high school, Mr. Summers played
backup guitar and keys in a few bands, while honing his song-writing skills.
In 2001, JD got his start on the Kansas City Circuit fronting the band, Flight-Risk. He surrounded himself with KC's
best musicians, to assist in developing the chops necessary to keep moving the music forward. These musicians
include Brandon Hudspeth, Bobby Carson, Walker Tippit, and more. In 2005, just after meeting his future wife,
Kerri, JD started The Get-A-Room Band with Joe Sherrick and Robert Armstrong. In 2007, he fronted The Groove
Pilots with Tim Kelly and Dave Swiercinsky. 2 years later, at the beginning of 2009, JD broke away to start his own
project... The JD Summers Band!
The JD Summers Band is anchored by the young and charismatic, JD Summers. Possessing the magnetism of James Brown and the
soulfulness of Otis Redding, it’s hard to turn away from this young, energetic performer when he hits the stage. Regardless if he’s
shredding on the guitar or pounding on the keys, young and old alike can not help but to move to the music when he turns it on.
The JD Summers Band is made up of some of the funkiest and soulful musicians in the Kansas City area. Each member, over the years, has
been in several great bands. Finally, coming together in one group to bring you the best music that they possibly can. The groove that this
group brings is nothing to be expected. Giving out a wide range of funky blues, rock & soul. Not to mention a little country and pop….

“LITTLE” GINO BUENO (Saxophone)
This burgeoning musician is quite the well-rounded entertainer. Having sung from stage as a toddler in his daddy’s
arms, Gino has grown up performing in one capacity or another. This young man can act, dance, sing and play
multiple instruments. Being an admirer of most musical genres, Gino asked to take guitar lessons at the age of nine.
His parents would not allow him to take guitar lessons, but enrolled him in piano lessons instead which gave him a
strong musical foundation. Upon entering middle school, Gino opted to play tenor saxophone in the band. He
stayed on that instrument through middle school, high school and college and played in symphonic, marching and
jazz band at all three levels. In high school he was selected to serve as drum major for Blue Springs South’s Jaguar
Pride Marching Band and was awarded the Louis Armstrong Excellence in Jazz Award. He has also participated in
choir since middle school and continues to do so at the college level as a member of the Metropolitan Chorale.
Today, you may see Gino play tenor or alto sax, bass guitar, keyboard or any other surprise instrument he may
have up his sleeve.
At the age of fourteen, Gino started going with his dad – also named Gino (of Kansas City’s Loose Change Band) –
to play at Loose Change’s open jam. At the same time, he started visiting other jams in the area to include a jam at
Winslow’s Barbecue hosted by Levee Town, Mama Ray’s jam, as well as jams at Trouser Mouse in Blue Springs.
Gino was welcomed by these seasoned musicians and gained valuable experience while fine-tuning his own unique
style of playing. Eventually, he started playing with Loose Change at weddings, corporate events and special
events, as well as the occasional club. Soon people began to ask for the sax player when booking the band. When
asked about his musical influences, Gino surprisingly did not name other horn players. He says while his biggest
influence has been his father, his sound is embodied by a fusion of blues, jazz, classic rock and funk. He takes
pride in playing with an individual flair and refuses to sound like “every other horn player.”

William Dale III (A.K.A. Dale) is one of the most versatile bass players you'll ever witness. Having a resume that
spans 40 years, Dale has played in a range of groups that have opened shows for Looking Glass, Rush, Rick
Derringer, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Cheap Trick, Judas Priest, and Steppenwolf, to name a few.
Dale has also played with KC Blues legends such as Millage Gilbert, The Frank Ace Blues Band, Big Woody and
Texas sensation Hamilton Loomis. Just from the aforementioned lineage, it is evident how deep Dale's versatility
goes. "Does he ever stop smiling?", fans ask. Dale's ever present smile will delight, and the energy he generates on
stage will excite!
